QWCampusThis policy explains what information the QWCampus mobile app and website ("QWCampus", "we", "us") collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using QWCampus, you agree to this policy and to our Terms & Conditions.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your name, email address, password and role (student or recruiter). Your password is stored only as a secure hash; we never see or store it in plain text.
- Profile details: phone number, gender, date of birth, a short bio, address and profile photo, if you choose to add them.
- Student details: college, course, branch, graduation year, enrolment number, skills and the exams you are preparing for.
- Recruiter details: company name, website, size and industry, your designation and the roles you are hiring for.
- Content you post: questions, posts, notes, comments and any images or files (such as PDFs) you attach.
- Reports: when you report a question, post or note, the reason you choose and the description you write.
- Community posts (administrators): the text, links, photos, videos, audio and files our team shares in communities.
- Job applications: the jobs you apply for and your answers in a recruiter's online assessment.
Information created when you use the app
- Quiz activity: your answers, scores and the time taken for each daily quiz question.
- Feed activity: the items you like, save, comment on, answer or report.
- Communities: the communities you join and leave, and when you joined.
- Notifications: the notifications we send you and whether you have read them.
- Device token: a push notification token from Google Firebase that identifies the app on your device, linked to your account while you are signed in. It is removed when you sign out.
- Assessment results: your scores in recruiter assessments.
- Email verification: a one-time code sent to your email address. We store only a hash of the code, and it expires after 10 minutes.
- On your device: the app keeps you signed in and remembers whether you have seen the welcome screens, using storage on your device.
We do not use the app to collect your precise location, contacts, or advertising identifiers, and we do not show third-party ads.
2. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and keep you signed in.
- To verify your email address and send you service emails, such as your verification code and a welcome email.
- To run daily quizzes, calculate scores and show leaderboards.
- To show you a feed that matches the exams you are preparing for.
- To let you join communities and read and download what our team shares there.
- To send you notifications: when a new quiz opens, when someone likes or comments on your post, when a community you joined posts an update, and, for administrators, when content is reported.
- To let you apply for jobs, and to let recruiters review applications and assessment results.
- To review reports, moderate content, prevent cheating and abuse, and keep QWCampus safe.
- To fix problems and improve the app.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. What other users can see
- Other users can see your name and profile photo alongside anything you post, comment on or appear on (such as leaderboards), and your quiz scores on leaderboards.
- Recruiters can see your profile and your assessment answers and scores for the jobs you apply to.
- When you like or comment on a post, its author is notified with your name and, for comments, the text of your comment.
- Communities: members see the total member count, not a list of who joined. Only administrators post in communities.
- Reports are private. The person whose content you report is not told who reported it. Only QWCampus administrators see your name, the reason and your description.
- QWCampus administrators can see account and profile information, all content, reports and community memberships, to run and moderate the service.
Images and files attached to posts and community messages are stored with our media provider and can be opened by anyone who has the link. Please do not upload anything you want to keep private.
5. Notifications
With your permission, QWCampus sends push notifications to your device. You may receive them when:
- a new daily quiz opens;
- someone likes or comments on your question, post or note;
- a community you joined posts an update;
- (administrators only) someone reports content.
The same notifications are kept in the in-app Notifications list, which shows which ones you have read. To stop push notifications, turn them off for QWCampus in your phone's settings, or leave a community to stop its updates. The in-app list stays available either way.
6. Device permissions
- Notifications: asked for when you sign in, to show the notifications described above. You can say no.
- Camera and photos: used only when you choose to take or pick a profile photo, attach an image to a post, or (administrators) attach photos or videos to a community message.
- Files and media: used only when you choose a document, audio or other file to attach.
- Internet: needed to connect to our services, and to open or download community attachments in your browser.
You can turn permissions off at any time in your phone's settings; some features may then stop working.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as your account is open. Reports are kept after they are reviewed, as a record of moderation decisions. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep some of it to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes or enforce our terms.
8. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including hashed passwords and verification codes, encrypted connections and access limited by role. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong password that you don't use anywhere else.
9. Your rights and choices
- Access and correct: you can view and edit your profile at any time in the app under Edit Profile.
- Delete content: you can remove content you have posted.
- Notifications and communities: you can turn off push notifications in your phone's settings, mark notifications as read, and leave any community at any time.
- Delete your account: email us at supportqwcampus@gmail.com from your registered address and we will delete your account and personal information.
- Other requests: to request a copy of your data, withdraw consent or raise a concern, contact us using the details below.
Depending on where you live, including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may have additional rights. We will respond to requests within a reasonable time.
10. Children
QWCampus is not meant for children under 13. If you are under 18, please use QWCampus only with the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has given us personal information without consent, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app or by email.
